Ministry in Nepal

Here's the background to this wonderful opportunity-

I was introduced the summer of 2010 to a Nepali pastor, Bishnu Regmi, through Action International which ministers to pastors in developing countries (see http://www.actioninternational.org/)

Bishnu was visiting the US thanks to a scholarship provided for him to attend training seminars.

Returning to Nepal, he wanted to encourage fellow pastors and workers there in basic ministry skills and theology, and so started a new training center this month.

He invited me to be one of the first “visiting faculty” to come the last week of November, 2010. I invited Leng Xiong to accompany me on the journey. We left Portland for Kathmandu November 22 and returned December 27. In additions to the short courses for pastors, we taught conversational English to 7-9 year olds in the Little Lamb primary school, and also class for adults.

Here are some links to give an idea of what life is like in Nepal.

We express our heartily gratitude for your prayer for the youth retreat on 22 and 23 July in Tansen, Nepal. Many of participants were new believers and some of them were non-christian. At the end of the retreat around 35 young people responded to the alter call and accepted Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior!
